What does Sustain-Ed do?
Sustain-Ed is a private educational consultancy created specifically to support the kaupapa of education for sustainability. I established this Christchurch based business in 2008 after 25 years of teaching experience in New Zealand and UK schools.
Sustain-Ed offers a variety of services aimed primarily at the secondary education sector. These include:
-
Peer review of papers and educational texts
-
Development of experiential learning programmes
-
Achievement Standard assessment task writing
-
Presentations & workshops on learning, sustainability and the social sciences
-
Development of sustainability initiatives with students in schools
-
Online professional dialogue
During the early 2000s, I was closely involved with the development of the NZ Curriculum 2007, Education for Sustainability Achievement Standards and EfS programmes in schools. When developing resources and programmes I actively seek new information, drawing on local and international research.
